New episode out now

Episode 2 of the Excentric Podcast is now live.

In this new episode, Music venues & live music data: sector‑wide insights, the Excentric Podcast hosts welcome Léna Lozano (LiveDMA) for a 35‑minute conversation on how data is shaping (and could better support) Europe’s live music ecosystem.

LiveDMA is a European umbrella organisation representing 3,200+ music venues and festivals, and a partner in the EXCENTRIC project. In the episode, Léna Lozano, Research Officer at LiveDMA, shares insights from across the sector, highlighting why data practices vary so widely between venues, what prevents smaller organisations from adopting digital tools, and how human‑centred, collaborative approaches can reduce administrative pressure on workers.

The discussion explores the diversity of Europe’s live music landscape, the realities of multitasking and “satellite work” in venues, and the ethical use of data in programming and booking. It also looks at how collaborative data practices could improve touring routes, reduce emissions, and support a shared language for data exchange, collaboration, and policymaking across the live music sector.

In EXCENTRIC, LiveDMA contributes its sector‑wide knowledge and network expertise, playing a key role in connecting grassroots venues, festivals, and policymakers, and ensuring that the project’s research and digital tools respond to real‑world conditions in live music.
