Reimagining Culture, Together

The CCSI play a vital role in shaping European identity, cultural vibrancy, and economic resilience. Still, many organisations face challenges in adopting digital innovations due to limited expertise, fragmented data practices, and a lack of tailored solutions.
EXCENTRIC addresses these barriers by developing Collaborative Data Ecosystems. Unlike conventional digital platforms, EXCENTRIC fosters a participatory, knowledge-sharing environment where organisations collaborate on data-driven decision-making to enhance competitiveness and sustainability.
The impact of the project
EXCENTRIC is more than a research project — it’s a movement to empower the cultural sector with data, collaboration, and human values. Through pilot actions, partnerships, and shared tools, we create change that’s visible on the ground and scalable across Europe.
The strengths
of the project

Pan-European impact
With three Pan-European umbrella organisations and pilot projects across six countries, our solutions are scalable and adaptable to diverse cultural environments.
A diverse consortium
EXCENTRIC brings together leading cultural institutions, research centres, and digital innovation experts from across Europe, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to transformation.
Human-centric & sustainable
We prioritise digital literacy, ethical data governance, and workforce empowerment, ensuring that digital adoption aligns with creative and organisational needs.

Beyond technology
EXCENTRIC doesn’t just provide tools; it creates a cultural shift by fostering collaborative ecosystems that break operational silos and encourage knowledge-sharing across the sector.

The pilots’ experiences
Over a 36-month period, EXCENTRIC will conduct six pilot projects—four within key experience sectors (festivals, live music, theatre, and museums) and two cross-sectoral pilots—spanning six European countries: Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Finland, Belgium, and Italy. These pilots will address critical operational challenges, ensuring that organisations of all sizes—micro, SMEs, foundations, and publicly funded bodies—can adopt digital solutions effectively
Together in the European ecosystem
EXCENTRIC is part of a growing network of EU-funded projects working towards a more connected, inclusive and data-driven cultural sector. By sharing knowledge, tools and ambitions, we amplify each other’s impact across Europe.
