This Open Demo Day is co-organised by LIVE DMA, EXCENTRIC’s live music umbrella organisation. As a European network representing live music venues, clubs and festivals across 19 countries, LIVE DMA brings the project’s pilots directly to live sector professionals, connecting EXCENTRIC’s Collaborative Data Practice with the audiences best placed to put it into practice. The day features two practical, discussion-based sessions built around two of the project’s pilots, live music and festivals.

Session 1 (14:00–15:00): Stop Guessing, Start Listening — Methods That Shift Festival Curation
Pilot in focus: Fondazione Romaeuropa
Festivals increasingly rely on ticketing data, surveys and digital behaviour to understand younger audiences — but does this tell the whole story? Starting from Romaeuropa Festival’s work on audience growth and dynamic pricing, this session brings together a festival, a youth-led programming initiative and a grassroots music collective to compare formal research, direct participation and community-led approaches to audience development, and to ask who really gets to define what young audiences want.

Session 2 (15:30–16:30): More Than Metrics — How Data Moves From Spreadsheet to Stage
Pilot in focus: Cultural Trend Lisbon
Cultural organisations collect audience and programming data every day — but what happens after the numbers are gathered? Building on Cultural Trend Lisbon’s work integrating data across venues and departments, this session looks at how data can move from reporting to action, helping organisations rethink who they programme, who they reach, and how they build more representative programmes.

Both sessions run as 60-minute practical workshops combining a short case-study input with an open panel and peer discussion.
